For parents who have kids that just can’t wait for Santa Claus to make his appearance this Christmas season, then why not take that excitement and turn it into something useful and fun? There are tons of crafts out there focused on Santa Claus for all ages and they can be a great way to pass the days when school is not in session and your kids are all but screaming Santa Claus is coming to town! Here is a great craft idea that can make Santa fun and help you to have some decor to sit around the house that is all about Santa Claus.

Santa Popsicle Stick Craft

You will need:

  • Popsicle sticks
  • Permanent glue dots
  • Acrylic paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Colored card stock in black
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Small pom pom

Cut a Popsicle stick into thirds with the scissors. Line up four Popsicle sticks evenly. Stretch out 3 glue dots to head onto the lower back of every of the reduced Popsicle sticks. Use this to stable the four Popsicle sticks together. Paint 1/2 of of the Popsicle sticks pores and skin coloured and the alternative 1/2 of red. Let it dry completely before moving on. Create Santa`s belt by gluing the outer buckle to the belt. Next, glue the internal buckle to the center of the outer buckle. Set apart for later. Take Santa`s beard and glue it in the center of where you have the skin coloured paint and red paint meet. Next, glue the finished belt under Santa`s beard. Make the Santa hat by gluing the fluff to the bottom of the hat and the pom to the top of the hat. Glue the finished hat to the pinnacle of the Popsicle sticks. Place the eyes within the center of Santa`s face and glue them in place. You can also use googly eyes in case you need as well. Finish off Santa by gluing a red pom pom in between his eyes for his nose.

This craft is pretty easy for almost any child of any age. We do recommend that since you are working with paint, you put down some newspaper on the workspace to ensure no paint ends up on the table. Be sure to use paints that are easy to wash up and kid-friendly if this is a worry about their clothing.

While you may have to help little ones with this craft, you will find other kids will have an easy time of it. You can even let the kids go wild with the colors. After all, who says Santa couldn’t be wearing some zebra print or even purple this year to stay fashionable? Let your kids imagination go wild and they will highly enjoy this craft. It can be a great way to pass the time while they anxiously await for Santa Claus to arrive on Christmas Eve. And if your kids really want to go the extra mile, tell them they are marking these little keepsakes for family members so they can get into the spirit of giving!
